Use our Embark Application to apply for the 2026-2027 Neurosurgical Oncology Fellowship. The deadline to apply is September 1, 2024. Positions are not available outside these dates and are filled yearly.

An application consists of a comprehensive CV and three recent letters of recommendation.  The letters should be addressed to Dr. Cameron Brennan, MD if applying for the cranial fellowship and to Dr. Mark Bilsky if applying for the spine fellowship. One of the letters must be from the applicant’s current program director. The applicants may also submit an optional statement of intent. We accept two cranial fellows and one spine fellow per year.

Eligibility

The neurosurgical fellowship is available to candidates who have completed the core residency training in neurosurgery and who are in excellent standing at their institution. We do not allow enfolded fellowships. We encourage applications from fellows who are interested in developing an academic career in neuro-oncology. Applicants must be eligible for a New York State medical license and must obtain the license prior to beginning the fellowship. To obtain a New York State medical license, candidates are required to have had three years of residency training in the United States or Canada. Foreign applicants must have passed the ECFMG or FMGEMS, as well as the FLEX exams.

Length of Program

One year for the clinical track.

If accepted to do research, the fellow is encouraged to spend 2 years of research time in a laboratory of their choice at MSK.
