Our bodies’ bone marrow makes the stem cells that ultimately turn into blood cells. Bone marrow failure syndromes are when the bone marrow cannot make enough blood cells. Sometimes they are present at birth and other times they develop later in life. These three bone marrow failure syndromes develop after a baby is born:

Acquired Aplastic Anemia

Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH)
