I’m a pediatric hemato-oncologist from South Korea. I am interested in cancer immunotherapy with special focus on pediatric malignancies. I believe cancer immunotherapy will change the prognosis of the patients with relapsed or refractory disease with minimal long-term toxicities, and it is the way of the future when quality of life is as important as curing a disease.

My research focus is the application of these cancer immunotherapeutic agents to a broad spectrum of pediatric malignancies, including neuroblastoma, osteosarcoma and other solid tumors. Additionally, I am interested in immune evasion mechanisms and the tumor microenvironment which can affect the clinical response to immunotherapy. Learning from in vitro and in vivo preclinical models, I plan to apply these immunotherapeutics in the near future to help children stricken with these horrific cancers with unmet needs.
