Risk-Reduction Surgery for Women with Family History of Ovarian Cancer

Women at high-risk of ovarian cancer because of mutations in the gene BRCA1 or BRCA2 might consider having a risk-reducing surgery called salpingo-oophorectomy to remove their ovaries and fallopian tubes before ovarian cancer has been diagnosed.
