At MSK, we evaluate more than 4,000 new breast cancer cases annually and have comprehensive experience dealing with many uncommon presentations of the disease. Our multidisciplinary Disease Management Team includes world-class experts in surgery, pathology, medical and radiation oncology, radiology, fertility counseling, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and nursing. The team collaborates on each individual patient’s case to develop personalized assessment and treatment protocols and deliver superior patient outcomes.
Patients receive our personalized approach to screening, treatment, and counseling at our state-of-the-art centers in New York City (at the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast and Imaging Center), Westchester County, Long Island, and New Jersey. The Risk Assessment, Imaging, Surveillance, and Education (RISE) Program provides women at increased risk of breast cancer with a custom long-term surveillance plan. Standard and investigational therapies and procedures are available through all sites. For women interested in pursuing breast reconstruction following mastectomy, our plastic and reconstructive surgical service offers the most advanced options available, including tissue expanders, implants, and up-to-the-minute techniques that use a patient’s own tissues. Our collaborative team approach allows patients to have implant reconstruction before or after radiation therapy.
