Nick grew up in Maryland, where he spent his childhood hiking and catching insects. He studied Biology and Mathematics at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, after which he moved up to New York to join the Hohl lab and experience big city living. He now splits his time between keeping the lab stocked, microbiome research, and assisting Bing Zhai with her studies. When not in lab he likes to go to the theatre or play nerdy card and board games.
